SPLENDID SPORT AT PARK

NEW PLYMOUTH ATHLETICS. RESULTS OF EVENING MEETING. Fine fields and excellent sport generally characterised the weekly meeting of the New Plymouth Amateur Athletic Club on the Pukekura Park sportsground last evening. All the events were contested by splendid fields and the finishes in all cases were good. Following are the results: — 220 yards hurdles: H. F. Fookes 18yds 1, H. L. Thomson 14yds 2, S. G. Dinniss 21yds 3; time, 27 2-ss. Fookes was first into the straight and, fencing better than his opponents, won by about three yards. Half-mile cycle: V. Ambury 50yds 1, C. Hawkins 30yds 2, N. C.
