HUINGA PRIZE-GIVING. CONCERT BY CHILDREN. There was a large attendance at the Huinga hall last Thursday night to hear the school children’s breaking-up concert and witness the prize-giving. The concert was a credit to the school teacher, Mr. Andersen, and also to Miss M. Towes, who played the, accompaniments. Before presenting the, prizes the chairman, Mr. H. Kaye, congratulated the children on their good attendance and said that of, a roll of 33 pupils 18 had gained attendance certificates, 15 not having missed a day. Beth Cook, Joan Jammieson and Lennie Gooch secured proficiency certificates and John Cook competency. John Cook was presented with the Corrigan Cup for being second in the championship for mangolds, and Beth Cook a medal for calf-rearing in connection with the Boys’ and Girls’ Clubs. Every pupil was given a book. Supper was served by the ladies and dancing was enjoyed. Music was played by an orchestra consisting of Mr. and Mrs. G. Cook and Mrs. Henderson, extras being played by Miss M. Loving and Mr. K. von Sturmer. Mr. W. Ogg was master of ceremonies.
