SETTLEMENT REACHED
COAL CONTRACT DISPUTE. PAYMENT 0F £55,000. The sum of £55,000 is to be paid by the Government and the Auckland Electric Power Board to Glen Afton Collieries, Ltd., as a settlement of the company’s claim in regard to the contract for the supply of coal to King’s Wharf power station, Auckland, which was terminated by the board pr:or to its expiration. The settlement has been approved by the board and the colliery company, and at a meeting of the bosyd it was announced that the Government had agreed to the terms.
