About 6000 of timber growing in country near Adelaide, belonging to the Forestry Department, was swept by fire, Several woodcutters had a narrow escape. The camps of two families were destroyed. . . A thousand volunteer fire-fighters responded to an urgent wireless appeal, and the blaze is now under control.
