Great new English works about to be erected at Corby, Northamptonshire, will cost £3,300,000; It is purposed to restart the manufacture of basic Bessemer steel. The works will be erected by Stewart' Lloyds. Bessemer steel was originally manufactured by Britain, which is now dependent on America and other foreign producers. It is hoped Stewart Lloyds will enable Britain to regain its trade. As a result of the Ottawa agreement a United States company operating in Canada has ordered 1,000,000 boxes of tin plates.- ...
