ROEBUCK CUP SHOOTING FINAL.

C. BENTON WINS AFTER TWO TIES.

The final of the Roebuck Cup was fired at the Seaview range during the week-end. It was a coincidence that this year’s result should have been a repetition of the final four years ago. President S. Roebuck and Rifleman C. B. Benton were equal in the aggregate and a second five rounds failed to alter the position. A further five rounds were fired, Benton gaining the trophy. Conditions for shooting were good. Scores are:—

With a small credit balance after 'the club’s appointments have been placed in first-class order, the Okato Tennis Club has commenced the new season. Friendly games with neighbouring clubs are being arranged fortnightly, and to increase the club’s popularity subscriptions have been reduced to 15s for men and 7s 6d for ladies. Several new members have joined, and the attendances at the courts indicate that the season will be most successful.
