CYCLIST SEVERELY HURT
BRAKE FAILS IN NAPIER STREET.

Napier, Last Night
Failure of the brake of a bicycle, to respond in Goldsmith Road this afternoon resulted in Harold Ruegg, aged 30, married, William Street, Takapuna, second engineer of the Poolta, sustaining severe concussion. Mr. Ruegg was taken to hospital and reported to-night to be improving. He was cycling down the slope when the brake failed and the machine gathered way until it skidded in avoiding a “road closed” sign.
