GIRL SERIOUSLY INJURED
CHARGE OF ATTEMPTED MURDER.
MAN REMANDED AT DUNEDIN.

Dunedin, Nov. 29.
In the Magistrate’s Court Thomas Polson, charged with attempting to murder Ruth Eleanor Corlett on November 14, and also with attempting to commit suicide on the same date, was remanded till December 9. The police stated that the girl was still seriously ill in hospital. Miss Corlett, aged 19, sustained a broken left arm and scalp wounds when, it is alleged, she was attacked by Polson with a hammer in her room at a boarding house. Polson was later admitted to hospital with a wound in his throat.
