THREATS IN CHAIN LETTERS

RED ACTIVITY IN BELGIAN CONGO. TROOPS HAVE TO OCCUPY AREAS. By Telegraph—Press Assn.—Copyright. London, Nov. 28. Communists are sending chain letter threats to the native chiefs in the Belgian Congo, who are asked to copy the letters and send them to six other chiefs under penalty of a curse or death, says the Brussels correspondent of the Times. The letters inform the natives that the whites have stolen their land, urge revolt, exhort massacre of the whites, and state that war is again raging in Europe. The letters are greatly agitating the superstitious natives, necessitating troops occupying several districts.
