GOLDMINING PROSPECTS
AUSTRALIAN COMPANY'S SUCCESS. POSITION TO RESUME DIVIDENDS. By Telegraph—Press Assn.—Copyright. London, Nov. 21. Mr. A. Agnew, presiding at the annual meeting of the Lake View and Star Goldmining Company (Australia), said the year’s results were no mean achievement. Aided by the high rate of exchange and the increased price of gold the directors had almost extinguished the company’s indebtedness out of revenue and were approaching completion of the work of increasing the plant capacity to 40,000 tons monthly. They had placed the company in a position to resume dividends. Mr. Agnew emphasised that all the values of the development work of the ore reserves were taken in terms of sterling at the beginning of September. There was every prospect in the near future of ore of 25s a ton and upwards in value becoming profitable owing to reduced working costs and irrespective of the enhanced gold value. Future dividends would be half-yearly orthriceyearly.
