UNFAVOURABLE GRANITES REPORT
PUBLIC INQUIRY PLAN SUPPORTED
By Telegraph—Press Assn. —Copyright. Rec. 6.30 p.m. Canberra, Nov. 20. The feeling is growing among Federal politicians that there should be a public inquiry into the Granites gold situation. Professor Madigan’s preliminary report has convinced the Ministers and members on all sides of the House that undue optimism has been shown by certain interests in descriptions of the field. Another report by Clark and Gibson, mining engineers, declares the western section is practically valueless. The latest report from G. Ramsay, working in the eastern section, is that the leases are valueless.
