BUTTER SHOWS LARGER INCREASE

Dairy Division of the Department of Agriculture for the - three- months ended October 31, 1932, when compared with those for the corresponding.' period l&st year, show an increase for butter .of 19.76 per cent.," at "28;i70 tons (last year 23,521 tons) and for cheese an increase. of 13.51 per cent., at 14,287 tons (last year 12,587 tons). Reduced to terms of buter-fat equivalent there is to' date an increase of 18.524 per cent. The. figures show that the . salted butter graded for October, • 1932, Was 14,498 tons, and the unsalted 516 tons, a total of 15,014 tons, compared .with 12,030 tons salted and 477 tons unsalted, a total of 12,507 tons, for October of last year—an increase of 20.04 per cent.

For the three months ended October, 1932, the respective quantities were » 27,482 tons and 688 tons, a total of 28,170 tons, compared with 22,963 tons and 558 ions, a total of 23,521 tons for the corresponding period of the preceding season, an increase of 19.76 percent. ' The cheese'graddd for October, 1932, comprised: White 7635 tons, coloured 2626 tons, a, total of 10,261 tons, compared ■ with * 6042 tons white and 3265 tons 'coloured, • a total of 9307 tons for-. October, 1931, an ’increase of 10.25 per. cent.
