MANY ORNAMENTS REMOVED.

“LIKE REFORMATION DAYS.”

By Telegraph—Press Assn. —Copyright. London, August 9.

Locking the vicar, the Rev. Bernard Falke, in tho vestry, and overpowering the bellringer, who tried to sound the alarm, two charabanc loads of men and women, members of tho Protestant Truth Society, led by J. Kensit, raided St. Hilary Church at Marazion (Cornwall). They removed a 'number of articles and ornaments, including tabernacle's, a figure of the Madonna and child, crucifixion pictures, votive candles and lamps. The raiders used hammers, chisels and crowbars, and broke a 15th century fount.

Kensit claimed that- the Consistory Court in February authorised the removal of the ornaments, and added: “We have done what was done in England in the Reformation days.”
