By Telegraph.—Press Association.

. Greymouth, Last Night. The English League team defeated West Coast to-day by 32 to 8. The weather was fine and the attendance was 3000.

The Englishmen immediately attacked, Davies breaking through and Sullivan kicking a penalty goal. Dodds made tw’o dashes, sending Bluett across. Masters converted. Sullivan was bustled by the West Coast forwards but after passing by Adams, Davies and Atkinson and Woods a fine goal was potted by Sullivan’from midfield. Then Hodgson and Atkinson broke away but Masters, Dodds, O’Brien and Bluett commenced passing and just failed to score at the corner. The visitors were taking things fairly easy, West Coast helping them by too much kicking. Sullivan started a passing movement with Atkinson, Wright and Hudson, the latter scoring. Bluett intercepted and Griffiths and M. O’Brien took over, the latter scoring. Hodgson then ran. from his 25 to score, Sullivan goaling. Pollard later sent Woods over, Sullivan converting. At half time England led by 17 to 8. The visitors dominated the second spell, the backs attacking in close formation. Woods dashed from his 25 to score behind the posts. English passing right across the field saw a score by Hudson. The final try came from passing among Davies, Hudson, Sullivan and Pollard, who scored. Sullivan converted all three tries. . West Coast had little chance in the final stages, when English passing movements were frequent. Several of such movement were pulled up for offside. The Englishmen gave the impression they could have scored more. .They gave, however, a good display of short and tricky passing.
