WAVERLEY GOLF CLUB. MEDAL ROUND RESULTS. Members of the Waverley Golf Club played a medal round over the week-end and results arc:. —

HAWERA PROGRESS COMMITTEE. COMPLETION OF PROGRAMME. The question of whether the Hawera Progress Committee should continue functioning was discussed at a public meeting last night. There was ia small attendance and a decision was-referred to the committee itself. -It was agreed that if any useful purpose could bo served by the committee’s continuing this should be done. Mr. F. W. Horner (chairman) traced the activities of the committee in drawing attention to Hawera’s stability and standing and inculcating a spirit of loyalty. The committee had completed its programme and unless fresh ideas were forthcoming had nothing to go upon, other than business that could be transacted at the quarterly meetings of the Chamber of Commerce which were open to the public. If the heed arosd the committee could be reformed on the original lines. It was set up by a meeting called by the Chamber of Commerce and Retailers’ Association and consisted of representatives of those bodies and other business men.

PATEA GOLF CLUB. SEAFIELD TEAM BEATEN. A four-ball match in the .morning and a singles match in the afternoon comprised the programme of play at Patea during the week-end, when tho fceafield team was beaten by 19 games to 12. Bourn and Wither beat Barry and K. and C. Honeyficld beat Ulinkard and Holyrod. Meharry and Connor beat Aagaard and Britten. Callender and W. Honeyfield beat Derbytshire and Jackson. Glenny halved with Soper. Patea had six wins and two halves and Seafield four wins and two halves. Singles. Reilly beat Goss. Wills beat Moulder. Findlay lost to Irwin. Fraser lost to Kitto. Edwards lost to Lints. Hegarty beat McKay. Hughes beat Smart. Currie beat Cheevers. Sheild halved with Lamont. Mitchell beat Whelan. Young halved with Young. Glenny lost to Soper. Callender lost to Derbyshire. W. Honeyfield lost to Jackson. • Patea had 13 wins and three halves and Seafield eight wins and three halves. NORMANBY SCHOOL EUCHRE. Thirteen tables were engaged at the Normanby School Committee’s euchre drive held on Friday. Competition was keen among the players. Mrs. Sanson won the ladies’ first prize and Mrs. Aitkens was second after playing off with Mesdames P. Linn, D. M. Cowie, Wharton and Miss L. Rowe. The consolation prize went to Mrs. T. Evans. Mr. W. Bennett, who won the men’s first prize, re-donated it to the committee to be competed for at the next school euchre party. The second prize was won by Mr. Geo. Flintoff and the consolation prize by Mr. J. Walden. The committee expressed thanks to Mrs. J. Howe-Giles and Messrs. P. Linn and Taylor, who generously donated the prizes.
