KAIMATA NEWS
PERSONAL AND GENERAL. (From Our Own Correspondent.) There was a good attendance at the euchre on Tuesday night. The prizes were won by Miss M. Potroz 1, Mrs. A. Bracegirdle 2. Mrs. T. Clark 3 (after playing off with Mrs. F. Adlam and Miss Jean Dobson), Miss B. Dobson consolation) ; Mr. L. Burkett 1, -Mr. B. Harrigan 2, Mr. J. Moratti 3, Master Peter Moratti consolation (after cutting three others). In a competition, the prizes were won by Mr* N. Bracegirdle 1, and Mr. Joe Moratti 2. Master 'Syd. Clark, who was admitted to the New Plymouth Hospital last week with & broken collar-bone, is home again. Master Nigel Instone, who is in the New Plymouth Hospital, is progressing favourably. . Mrs. D. Bracegirdle, who went to New Plymouth to undergo treatment, - is home again. Miss P. Paul is away on holiday. Mrs. A. Jackson and family have left Kaimata to settle at Inglewood. The Kaimata factory has commenced the manufacture of cheese and is now running every day. During the. slack period the whole of the machinery and fittings have been overhauled ready for the new season, and the fern and blackberry round the factory have been cut and burnt. During the week-end the Tarata senior football team visited Kaimata. Neither team was at full strength. After a very fast and interesting game uoside found the scores three-all. Both sides scored a try in the second half. Kaimata’s try was scored by T. Hartigan from a forward scramble. After the match afternoon tea was served by the ladies. At a meeting of the Kaimata Football Club on Friday night it was decided to enter a team in the Tariki ten-a-side competition on Tuesday.
