DEATH ROLL TWO HUNDRED MANY SUBURBS SUBMERGED FIRES IN RUINS OF HOUSES By Telegraph—Press Assn.—Copyright. Hong Kong, July 31. Nearly all the inmates of a home for the aged at Canton perished in floods which resulted in more than 200 deaths and damage exceeding 1,000,000 dollars (about £75,000). The rapid rise of the Si-Kiang was augmented by a torrential deluge which submerged many suburbs. Many lives were lost through houses collapsing and fires breaking out.
