CLOSING GLAMIS CASTLE

Owing to the burden of land tax the Earl of -Strathmore, father of the Duchess of York, is closing Glamis Castle in the autumn. At present it is taxed nearly 20s in the pound. Only a very small portion will be reserved for the use of the Duchess of York, the earl said.
