WEDDINGS

HARRISON—-BLICK.

On Wednesday, May 25, St. Andrew’s Church, Stratford, was the scene of the wedding of Phyllis Kate, only daughter of Mr. and the late Mrs. Blick, and Leonard Charles, only son of Mr. and I Mrs. C. H. Harrison, Ngaere. The cere- | mony was performed by the Rev. J. i MacGregor. Mrs. Lilley presided at the organ. The bride, who entered the | church escorted by her father, wore a dainty frock of ivory satin made with fitting bodice and long flared skirt. The -.veil, mob cap style and. caught with orange blossoms trimmed, with a circlet of pearls, fell to form a cape. She carried a beautiful shower bouquet of maidenhair fern with touches of pink and white chrysanthemums. The bride was attended by her cousin, Miss' Mollie Chisholm, Wellington, who wore a pretty frock of palest green n-eorgette and headdress of silver leaves to tone. She carried a bouquet of maidenhair fern and lemon chrysanthemums. Mr. Harry Henn, Te Kiri, was best man. The floral decorations were the work of Mrs. A. Moon, Stratford. Mrs. H. C. Johnson, cousin of the bride, received the guests. She wore a smart navy coat and hat. Her bouquet was of autumn-tinted flowers. Mrs. C. H. Harrison, 'mother of the bridegroom, wore a smart coat and hat to match. She carried a bouquet of similar shadMr. and Mrs. Harrison left by car for a tour of the North Island. The marriage took place at St. Mark’s Church, Wellington, on Weflncs-. day, o-f Frances, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. E. C. Bray, of New Plymouth, to M. G. Coleman, son of Mr. D. W. Coleman, MJ?., Mayor of Gisborne, and Mrs. Coleman. Th© bride, who was given away by her father, wore a frock of white satin, made with long tight sleeves, and fitting closely to the knees, where it flared out with vandyked godets, and a smart bustle effect was achieved by frills from waist to hem. She wore a tulle veil, and carried a bouquet of white flowers. She was attended by two bridesmaids, Miss Muriel Thompson and Miss Irene Beazley, wearing long frocks of peach n-eorgette and lace, with, short coats and felt hats of the same shade trimmed with blue velvet. Two small flower girls, Molly Bray (sister of the bride) and Noeline Thompson, were in lonof Victorian frocks of pale blue satin with silver and blue Dutch caps.-

After the ceremony, a reception was held in the Jacobean room, Kirkcaldie and Stains, when over sixty guests were entertained. The bride’s mother, Mrs. Bray, received the guests wearing a navy blue ensemble, and carrying a bouquet in autumn tones. Mrs. Coleman, the bridegroom’s mother, wore a honey-beige facecloth coat with beaver collar, and a hat to tone, and carried a bouquet in autumn colours. The tables were bright with Iceland poppies and narcissi, and the threetiered wedding cake was decorated with lily-of-the-valley. .

MANGAN—HYNES.

Ivory satin for the bride and pale green for the bridesmaid were chosen for the wedding at the Church of the Immaculate Conception, Stratford, on Wednesday, May IS, of Kathleen, younger daughter, of Mr. and the late Mrs. W. Hynes, Foxton, and Cornelius, elder son of Mrs. and the late Mr. Mangan, Temuka. The 'Rev. Father McLaughlin conducted the service. The bride, who was escorted by her brother-in-law, Mr. J. Huddlestone, wore a gown of ivory -satin made with a long, tight-fitting 'bodice, with lace bolero attached, and a long flared skirt. Her beautiful oval veil of silk net was held in place by a point lace Juliet cap trimmed with clusters of orange blossoms. She carried a shower bouquet of white chrysanthemums, carnations and maidenhair fern.

The bridesmaid, Miss Mary Massey, wore a frock of pale green taffetas and georgette, ankle-length, with hat and shoes to tone. Miss Massey carried a bouquet -of lemon flowers and maidenhair fern.

The bridegroom was attended by Mr. Owen Lennon as best man. The “Wedding March” was played by Miss M. Ford.

After the ceremony a reception was held in the Windsor. Mrs. J. Huddlestone, sister of the bride, received the guests. She wore a wine-coloured frock with hat and shoes to tone, and carried a posy of chrysanthemums and maidenhair fern. The beautiful threetier wedding cake was the gift of Mr. and Mrs. H. McCaskill. In the afternoon Mr. and Mrs. Mangan left on their honeymoon. The bride was attired in a flecked blue silk velvet frock, with coat, hat and shoes to tone.

MAINGAY—DONNELLY.

On June G, at Holy Trinity Church, Ngaruawahia, the marriage took place of 5 Elphine Mabel, second daughter of the late Mr. L. H. Donnelly and Mrs. Donnelly, Eltliam, to Halcrow James, younger son of Mr. and Mrs. J. T. Maingay, Devonport, Auckland. The Rev. °H. Sinclair officiated. The bride, who was escorted by her brother, wore a model frock of ivory satin and lace, which fell in graceful folds to the ankles, A lace veil and sheaf of white chrysanthemums and asparagus fern completed, a charming toilette. Miss Jean Donnelly, sister of the bride, as bridesmaid, was gowned in cameo-pink angel skin, fashioned on Juliet lines, with lace cap and mittens of a deeper shade to tone. She carried a dainty bouquet of cyclamen and maidenhair fern. Mr. Linden Donnelly carried out the duties of best man. A reception followed at “Strathaven, the home of the bride’s grandmother, Mrs. T. LEHMAN-FERGUSON.

A pretty wedding was solemnised on. June 15 at St. Andrew’s Church, Stratford, the officiating minister being the Rev. J. MacGregor. The parties were Elsie, second daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Alex. Ferguson, Hamlet Street, and Leonard, youngest son of Mrs. and the late Mr. Carl Lehman, Bird Road. The church was decorated with holly and chrysanthemums. The bride, escorted by her father, entered the church looking charming in a white satin ankle-length frock with a flared skirt and draped pieces on the hips, and a medici collar of lace. A beautiful silk-embroidered _ veil was worn with a lace cap prettily trimmed with orange blossom. The bride carried a beautiful sheaf of lemon, cream and orange roses with maidenhair fern and autumn-tinted leaves. The bridesmaids, Miss Dorothy Ferguson, sister of the bride, and Miss Floris I ehniann, niece of the bridegroom, were dressed in frocks of a soft blue marocain with blue felt hats trimmed with blue feathers and a touch of orange. They also carried bouquets of i-oses- with blue streamers. Mr. Harry Haylock, Taihape, was the best man and Mr. Roy Watson, Stratford, the groomsman. Mrs. Lilly officiated at the organ. After the ceremony the guests were received at the Windsor, which was tastefully decorated with holly and chrysanthemums. The bride’s motherwas attired in a black satin coat and navy hat with a white feather. The bridegroom’s mother wore a navy coat and black hat relieved with white. After the reception the happy pair left for Te Kuiti, the bride’s travelling ensemble being a brown satin dress with a bottle green coat, hat and shoes to tone.

In the evening a party of friends visited the bride ? s residence in Hamlet Street, games and competitions and musical items passing the time very pleasantly.
