DAIRY MARKETS IMPROVE
GREATER ACTIVITY IN LONDON.
Cheese Quotations:—
Yesterday: White, 56s to 575; coloured, 56s to 575; steady. Last week: White, 545; coloured, o4s to 555; quiet. Butter Quotations:—
Yesterday: 96s to 975; film. Last week: 95s to 965; slow.
Cheese prices have improved by about two shillings since last week as the result of greater market activity. Butter is in slightly better demand but quotations are still practically on the same level as last week. The following cables have been received: — A. S. Paterson and Co. (from Lonsdale’s) : Both markets are quiet. New Zealand butter, 90s; Australian, 95s to 90s; cheese, white and coloured, 56s to 575. .... , , Press Association: Butter is in slightly better demand. Quotations: Danish, 98s to 100 s; choicest salted New Zealand, 90s to 975; Australian, 95s to 90s; unsalted, New Zealand, 98s to 100 s; Australian, 90s to 98s. Cheese, is more active. Quotations: New Zealand white and coloured, 575. New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Company, Limited: Butter, New Zealand choicest salted, 90s. per cwt (90s to 97s last week),. Cheese, 56s to 57s per cwt (54s to 55 s). The market is steady. Mr. E. Griffiths, from A. J. Mills and Co.: The butter market is steadier. New Zealand finest, 90s to 97s (955); New Zealand firsts, 95s to 90s (945); New Zealand unsalted, 98s to 102 s (98s to 102 s); Danish, 90s to 97s (97s to 98s); Australian, 93s to 95s (93s to 955). The cheese’.market is firmer. New Zealand white, 57s (-54 s to 555); NewZealand coloured, 57s to 5Ss (54s to 55b); Canadian, c.i.f., 545. (51s c.i.f.). Newton King, Ltd. from R. and W. Davidson, Limited: The butter market, is steady at a. slight advance on last week. Salted, 93s to 97s (95s to 90s); unsalted, 94s to 98s (94s to 98s).
