The trial of nine anfi-Fascists in connection with alleged plots against Signor Mussolini concluded with the passing of the death sentence on Bovone, chief of the accused, who admitted making a bomb which caused the death of a police officer and injury to several persons. Bovone said he merely intended to cause alarm, not to harm. Bovone’s woman associate, Margherita Blaha, an Austrian dancing girl with long golden curls, who wept throughout the trial, was sentenced with five others of the accused to thirty years’ imprisonment. Two accused were sentenced to ten years’ imprisonment. Bovone will be shot through the back.
