N.S.W. SENSATION

alleged plans of lang

"SECRET DOCUMENT” FOUND drastic work after poll LABOUR PAPER’S DENIAL “ONLY ZINOVIEFF LETTER” By Telegraph—Press Assn. —Copyright. Sydney, June 9. The Telegraph this morning published a photograph of a document found in the rooms of Parliament House occupied by the sitting members of the Lang 'Party. The Telegraph says that the original will be forwarded to the Commissioner of Police. The document is torn top and bottom. Its headings read: “Lang. Secret Service —Strictly Confidential.” Excerpts are as follows: —

“On our return to power on June 11, with a definite mandate from the people to govern and carry out the Lang Plan, we. must press on to our objective and do it quickly—socialisation and confiscation.

“Legislation suspended through the dismissal of the Lang Government must be immediately restored by proclamation; the State Government to be peremptorily deposed; the Federal Government to be given 24 hours to quit the Federal city territory and New South Wales; the Federal city and all property not removed within 24 hours to be confiscated, and vested in the New South Wales Government.

“The exodus of men and money to other States must cease; all persons in New South Wales on June 11 to be compelled to remain in New South Wales. . The Lang Guard, from the Workers’ Defence Army, will be stationed at all vital border points to hold up transport.

“A rigid Press censorship will be enforced, the Lang Guard to take precedence over the civil police. “The Lang Treasury is to seize control of all banking, the Lang Guard to have power to place under arrest any person disobeying or refusing to carry out their orders.

“All the Government’s payments will be made in debenture notes, which will be proclaimed legal tender at face value.

“All action is to radiate from zero hour —within 48 hours of midnight on June 11.

“If Mr. Lang should by any mischance be defeated for the Auburn seat he will be appointed the State Governor.” Curiously enough the Labour Daily (Lang plan paper) seemed to have full knowledge last night of the Telegraph publishing the story in the morning, because it says: “The Telegraph in the morning publishes a stupid and obvious forgery, which purports to be a secret report by a mythical Lang Guard secret service agent. It is a pitiful repetition of the Zinovieff letter which was used to stampede the British electors against Labour in 1924.” •

The Labour Daily adds; “The document is carefully torn to disguise its origin and on behalf of the • Labour movement we assure all the electors that this document is an impudent fraud and. a fake. We challenge the Telegraph at nine in the morning to place in the hands of the Police Department sufficient evidence to convince it that the document is genuine.
