GENERAL DAWES RESIGNS
RECONSTRUCTION CORPORATION.
By Telegraph—Press Asen.—Copyright.
Washington, June’6. General Charles G. Dawes on Monday resigned his position as president of the Reconstruction Finance Corporation, to which he. was elected on . February 2 last.
No reason is given for General Dawes’ resignation, but it may have been prompted by a decision to accept the temporary chairmanship of the Republican National Convention on June 14. The temporary chairmanship, which carries the duty of “sounding" the keynote,” was offered to General Dawes in March, but he is said to have declined it on the grounds that it would mix politics with his present position.
