ADVENTUROUS CRUISE
SAILING BOAT AT APIA. BOUND FOR LOS ANGELES. (New Zealand Herald Correspondent.) Suva, June 1. Word has been received at Suva tlufct Mr. Fred Rebel], who sailed from Suva ou April 20 in an 18-foot sailing boat, in continuation of his cruise from Sydney to Los Angeles, has arrived at Apia. The voyage from Suva to Apia took 35 days and was uneventful. En route he spent two weeks among the islands of the Lau Group, where he was well received.
Mr. Rebell proposes to sail from Apia for Fanning Island, then on to Honolulu and Los Angeles. At the latter port he will endeavour to sell his boat and then cross to New York. At New York he will secure another small *boat, sail across the Atlantic, and then make for his home near Riga, in the Baltic. It is a hazardous undertaking and he fully expects that two years will elapse before he reaches his destination.
