FAILURE OF TIN INTERESTS

SUSPENSION OF THE MARKET. NEGOTIATIONS PROCEEDING. By Telegraph—Press Assn. —Copyright. London, June 6. Dealings on the tin market have been temporarily suspended owing to the failure of Lewis Lazrus and Sons to meet their engagements. Negotiations are proceeding between important tin interests with a view to minimising dislocation. The Australian Press Association understands that the failure of Lazrus and Sons, a firm which has big tin interests, is due to Continental clients failing to meet obligations. Rumours of some such event have been hanging over the tin market for some months. Competent authorities are hopeful that now tho extent of the trouble is known the position will improve.
