Paris, June 6. “May I have the honour of the first interview,’’ said a 14-year-old boy, pushing through a crowd of journalists at the Quai D’Orsay and greeting M. Herriot, the new Prime Minister. “I am Pierro Bourgeoin, editor of the school paper Petit Lyceen,” said the boy. M. Herriot invited the boy to his study where he wrote: “I remember the bld village school where I learned to read and write. I can still read with the help of spectacles but once I became a politician I could not write.”
