ZEAL OF PRESBYTERIANS
HARMONY WITH OTHER CHURCHES. GOVERNOR-GENERAL’S TRIBUTE. By Telegraph.—Press Association. Wellington, Last Night, The foundation stone of a new Presbyterian Church at Seatojrti was laid, by the Governor-General (Lord Bledisloe) on Saturday afternoon. His Excellency was accompanied by Lady Bledisloe. In the course of his address his Excellency said: “Let me take this opportunity of cxepreesing our admiration of the activities of the Presebyterian Church throughout the Dominion and-of wishing Godspeed to their numerous and beneficent enterprises. 1 have always felt at . homo among Presbyterians, for my dear Scotch mother was one, and I owe her more than I shall ever be able to repay. But especially is it the case here, for nowhere, not even in Scotland or Canada, is the flame of Presbyterian ' spiritual zeal burning more brightly than it does in this country or are its torch-bearers working, thank God, more harmoniously with those of other Christian communities. Such co-operation is, I am convinced, absolutely vital under > modern conditions to the future of the immeasurable power for the good .of' Christianity throughout the world.”
