INTER-CLUB RIFLE SHOOTING

OKATO BEAT NEW PLYMOUTH. LARGE MARGIN FOR WINNER'S. A friendly rifle match between teams of eight representing the New Plymouth and Okato branches of the New Plymouth Defence Rifle Club was fired. at the Sea View rifle range, Okato, during the week-end. The match, which was held over the three ranges, 300, 500 and 600 yards, was won by Okato by 34 pointe. Conditions were almost ideal for shooting and the local competitors performed consistently, S. Roebuck making the best score on the day with a 33 at each range. The New Plymouth club was unable to field its best team. Details of the match are:— OKATO.

The New Plymouth branch’s Thursday competitors were again prevented from completing the stage of the handicap and championship competition begun on the previous Saturday. Scores will be published when th® stage is concluded.
