EXPLOSION AT SCHOOL

LABORATORY ACCIDENT.

HIGH SCHOOL BOYS INJURED.

While the upper sixth form of;the Stratford Technical High School was conducting a series of flame tests yesterday an° explosion occurred and Kingston Braybrooke and Gordon Keller were cut about the head and arms. Braybrooke was removed to the public hospital by members of the staff and spent a comfortable night. Keller is progressing well in a private hospital. F It appears that the explosion occurred when Braybrooke placed a piece of hot platinum wire iir a bottle which he thought contained calcium carbonate. The °glass bottle was blown to pieces. Either Braybrooke mistook the bottle or some chemical other than calcium carbonate had been supplied by the merchant.
