The show buildings, it was stated, had been written down by a further sum of £52 6s 6d, and appeared in the balance sheet at £157 Is. The original had been £366 7s. Shotter (Midhirst), Gibbons Bros. (Ngaere)', A. W. King (Auroa), H. A. King (Wharehuia), L. C. Milne, T. T. Murray and R. Sextus (Toko), E. Bayly (Huinga), J. Stewart (Cardiff), T. Old, J. O’Neill and D. McGuiness (Pukengahu), H. W. Hancock Road), E. A. Cave (Mahoe) and M. Knox. Owing to pressure of business Mr. F. T. Hale was obliged to resign from the secretaryship and the president, Mr. A'. J. Davey, said Mr. Hale could not bef permitted to resign without the association’s recognising his splendid services. Mr. Hale had been secretary since the inception of the association eight years ago, and nobody could have rendered i more efficient service. He presented a gold mounted fountain pen on behalf of the association. “Mr. Hale has been' a tower of strength to this association and his successor will have a very difficult task to emulate his example, remarked Mr. T. Kirkwood, A true team spirit among members and officers of the association had been | responsible for the progress that had 'been made, said Mr. Hale. He had heard it remarked in other towns how

well the members of the Stratford association pulled together, and that was true because the show had always been the main object and any litle differences there had been had invariably been submerged in the feeling that one had to do one’s best for the association as a whole.
