MODEDATE SOUTHERLY WINDS,

By Telegraph.—Press Association. Wellington, Last Night. The weather will be fine in most districts but there will be some scattered showers still between Hawke’s Bay and East Cape and in the far north. Temperatures will be cool with some inland frosts. The anti-cyclone referred to in recent notes is now moving on to New Zealand, pressure having risen considerably. In eastern Australia there has been a considerable fall in pressure. ~ , There will be south to south-east winds, light to moderate mainly but strong in the far north. Seas will be rough north of Napier and there, will be a considerable swell elsewhere in and north of Cook Strait, but the sea will moderate gradually. . In the eastern Tasman Sea winds will be light to moderate and variable and there will still be a considerable but decreasing southerly swell.
