BALL AT MATAPU.
A successful ball was held in the Matapu Hall on Wednesday night, when there were dancing enthusiasts from Opunake, Hawera, Eltham, Kaponga, Awatuna and Okaiawa, besides many 'local residents. Th© door takings were t£ls. The dance was kept going till 'the early hours to Henderson’s Star 'Band. During supper extras were played by Mrs. Attrill (Eltham) and Miss •M. Guy. The winners of the Monte Carlo waltz were Miss M. Startup and Mrs. H. Duggan. The supper arrangements were in the hands of Mesdames Seed, Guy and Startup. The M.C. was 'Mr. T. Guy. Amongst those present were Mesdames Seed, floral rayon; Guy, black celanese; Startup, black georgette; Kelly, black georgette; Attrill (Eltham), black lace, georgette; Dodunski (Opunake), green georgette; Misses I.
