HALL AT BELL BLOCK
MEETING OF THE SUBSCRIBERS.
There was a fair attendance at the annual meeting of subscribers to the Bell Block Hall Society on Wednesday ni<*ht. Mr. J. Downs presided. The chairman reported that because of the depression the committee had held only two dances, neither of which was Ve 'nie Pr °balan l S-shcet showed receipts amounting to £62 Bs. 4d., including a credit balance brought forward of £62 Is. Bd. The expenditure had. totalled £37 16s. 4d., leaving a credit or £-u Zs.. The balance-sheet was adopted. Officers were elected as follow: President, Mr. J. Downs; vice-presidents, Messrs. L. Rundle and T. P re^ cll » con l,' mittee, Messrs. J. Bethel, J. Mallen, G. Holmes, J. Broome, G Bracegird e, C. Hoskin, L. Lambert, R. F. p - Hoskin; secretary and treasurer, Mr. T. Mallen (subject to his acceptance); auditor, Mr. R. Pepperill. Votes of thanks were accorded the president, committee and secretary; the ladies for their assistance and co-opera-tion, and Mr. Pepperill for his services as auditor. Arrangements were made for the election of a ladies’ committee, and a meetin.'* of the combined 'committees will be held at an early date.
