In the course of a survey of the world’s wheat production the Imperial Economic Committe reports: New Zealand is conspicuous among non-European countries for its high yield per acre. With an average yield of 34.6 bushels per acre for’ the years 1924 to 1928 it far surpassed the principal wheat producing conutries outside Europe and, with the exception of Belgium and Denmark, surpassed those on the Continent of Europe. Canterbury is the chief wheat district, supplying about 83 per cent, of the total area.
