FEES FOR UNIVERSITIES
CUT suggested in parliament.
By Telegraph.—Press Association. Wellington, Last Night. In view of the reduced income of students Mr. A. J. Stallworthy (Coalition, Eden) asked in the House of Representatives this afternoon whether the Government would use its influence to secure a reduction in university fees, examination fees and registration fees. The Prime Minister (the Rt. Hon. G. W. Forbes) replied that the university colleges relied on fees to meet current expenses but some reduction might be possible. He would arrange fr • communication with the university colleges on the subject.
