HOLIDAY BOWLING

NEW PLYMOUTH TOURNAMENT CLOSE AND INTERESTING GAME'S. TWO RINKS STILL UNDEFEATED. A two-day tournament was opened on the New Plymouth Bowling Clubs green yesterday, sixteen rinks, repiesen ting four of the .New Plymouth clubs, together with a rink each from Wai tai a and Inglewood, competed. Excellent weather prevailed, though following the heavy ram of the previous day the green was not as keen as it has been. The rinks were divided into two sections of eight each and the conditions are that six section games of 14 heads each are to be played. Four section games were played yesterday and this morning there will be two more section games, followed in the afternoon by the final, which will consist of 21 heads. The majority of the games yesterday .were very close, seven resulting in a tie on the 14th head, each of the participants taking half a point. L. Street (Fire Brigade) was particularly unfortunate, tieing in three games and being defeated in the fourth by a point Two New Plymouth Club rinks have gone through without a defeat—W. Taylor in Section A and H.
