FIJIAN BANANA SHIPMENTS
DIRECTOR VISITING NEW ZEALAND HOPE OF TRADE TO SOUTH ISLAND. By Telegraph.—Press Association. Wellington, March 10. At present on a visit to the Dominion is Mr. Barnes, Director of Agriculture in Fiji, who hopes to be able to arrange for regular shipments of Fiji bananas to the South Island. Mr. Barnes said shippers were not satisfied with all the fruit going to Auckland and he said it was desirable also to prevent overlapping with shipments from Samoa. He will discuss the matter of fruit shipments with various officials and confer with the authorities on various agricultural topics.
