BANK’S BUYING OF GOLD
MEMBER’S STATEMENT DENIED.
ALL SELLER'S TREATED ALIKE.
By Telegraph.—Press Association.
Wellington, March 9. Mr. W. A. Bodkin, M.P., who advocated in the House of Representatives the purchase of gold by the State, is corrected by the banks in his allegation that the banks in buying gold from small prospectors were making profits by retaining the value of exchange. The Post is officially informed that this is contrary to fact, the banks treating sellers of small and large parcels of goM alike. The exchange rate is changing day by day.
