Barnett (of the Scientific and Industrial Research Department) are the experts chosen by the hoard to investigatethe question of coverage and matters relating there-

to, Mr, Vickery, added, that this commission would investigate fully and report upon the best available meaps for providing the most satisfactory broadcasting coverage for New Inland, taking into. consideration recent "developments and having due regard to all each factors as (1), distribution of population, (2) topographical fetaures, (3) the desirability of establishing relay stations and means of connecting them with distributing centres, (4) the practicability of having one or more national stations giving non-fading reception air over the Dominion, '(5) the power of stations with a view to ensuring adequate signal-to-noise ratio, the adequacy of existing stations in relation to power, modem features of design and the quality of broadcast transmission. In connection with the preparation of its report the commission wfll shortly visit various parts of New Zealand where reception is unsatisfactory and investigate on the spot the conditions affecting coverage. Opportunity will thus be afforded radio societies and interested listeners of pointing out the difficulties under which they have been labouring, • Societies and persons desiring to make representations to the commission should 'noiiify the board accordingly as early as possible so that-suitable arrangements may be made.
