The police stations in Paris and its suburbs have been filled by the arrest of three hundred Communists for demonstrating in favour of a dole without preliminary contribution. The promptitude of the police reduced the demonstration to a fiasco. A suffragette who tried to storm the Legislative Chamber, shouting ‘‘Make room for women,” was removed to an infirmary as mentally affected. After being given a free meal the Communists were released with the exception of 300 foreigners who were armed or were without the regulation, papers.
