ADVERSE VOTE BY COUNCIL ARBITRATION BILL LOST COMPULSORY UNIONISM By Telegraph—Presa Assn.—Copyright. Rec. 10.45 p.m. Sydney, Dec. 22. The New South Wales Legislative Council by 45 votes to 44 to-day rejected the Government’s request to restore the State Arbitration Bill for immediate passage. The Government leader said the clause on which the Government was insistent was the one providing for compulsory unionism. 1
Five of the Federal Labour group voted with the Opposition.
