TERRIFIC CLOUDBURST
HEAVY DAMAGE IN OTAGO. ■ ORCHARDS AND FARMS SUFFER. By Telegraph.—Press Association. Dunedin. Dec. 19. A terrific cloudburst at Earnscleugh Flat yesterday did much damage. Down the ridges of Blackmim’s Gully the water rushed in torrents, carrying away fences and scouring orchards. The wate'r entered Mr. Kincaid’s house by ihe back door and passed out through the front
door. Tho houee had to be vacated. Waah-outs on the railways and roads are also reported. In some orchards the; whole of the soil was washed away.: A large portion of Galloway Flats ,io under water. Blackman’s Creek has changed its course and is now flowing through lucerne paddocks.
