SATISFACTORY RICE CROP
FEARS OF BURMA GROUNDLESS. British Official Wireless. Rec. 5.5 p.m. Rugby, Oct. 15. Despite fears in some quarters that the outbreak in Burma would seriously intesfere with the rice crop, a Rangoon message states the crop is only 2 per cent, less thaq, last year’s estimate and only 4 per cent, less than indicated by last year’s actual sowing. The proportion of the crop destroyed by weather is smaller than usual.
