NEW THEATRE, OPUNAKE.

“VIENNESE NIGHTS.”

Picture lovers of Opunake and district can look forward to-morrow night to viewing one of the most magnificent talking pictures yet screened in the Dominion. “Viennese Nights,” Warner Bros, and Vitaphone romance, which opens its season of three nights and two matinees at the New Theatre. It has been enthusiastically acclaimed wherever it. has been screened. In Sydney it rtin fby six months at one theatre. One of the most elaborate productions ever attempted, on the screen, it is photographed in full natural colours. The music itself is superb and was written by the composer who wrote the score of “The Desert Song.” The theme of the story is that beauty is indestructible, and it is shown in the spirit of those who take part from the star to the most modest character. The scenes are entrancing and of exceptional human interest* and the songs will haunt the memory for a long time to come, especially “You Will Remember Vienna” and “I Bring a Love Song,” accompanied by a symphony orchestra of nearly 100 performers. The leading artists are Vivien Segal, Alexander Gray, Walter Pidgeon, Bert Roach, Jean Hersholt and Louise Fazenda. There is also a strong supporting programme. There will be a matinee to-morrow at 2 o’clock and on Monday at 1.30 o’clock.
