FIRE SOON EXTINGUISHED. (From Our Own Correspondent.) Very little damage was done when shortly after 8 o’clock yesterday morning the benzine burner of the linotype at the Inglewood Times office burst into Hames. The fire brigade was called out and soon put out the fire with the chemical extinguisher. LITTLE BOY BADLY SCALDED. .The two-year-old son of Mr. R. CYossan, Inglewood, was badly scalded yesterday morning when he climbed up and pulled over his chest a basin of boiling starch. He was attended by Dr. Faris and is progressing satisfactorily at his home. LADIES PLAY GOLF MATCHOn the local links yesterday the ladies of the Inglewood Golf Club played their annual Captain (Mrs. Winter) versus Secretary (Mrs. Partridge) match. Although there were some very big wins on both sides the match ended in a draw. It was a beautiful day and the links were in excellent order and some good golf was played. The following are the detailed scores, with the captain’s players mentioned first:— Miss Morton and Mrs. Winter beat Mesdames I. P. Grant and Pope, 3 up and 2.
