He has lived in ■New Plymouth 12 years, during which he has been closely associated with St. Andrew’s Presbyterian Church. He is tire treasurer of the Rotary Club. For eight years he represented the insurance companies on the Hawera Fire Board. At a meeting of the board week regret was expressed at his impending departure from the district. The death occurred at Palmerston North on Thursday after a protracted and severe illness of Mrs. Annie "Winifred Whitehouse,. wife of SeniorSergeant Whitehouse, of the Palmerston North police force. Mrs. Whitehouse, who was 55 years of age, was born in County Donegal, Ireland, and came to the Dominion with her parents at tho age of two. She spent most of her o-Frlhood days at Hawera, where she was married to Constable Whitehouse in January, 1897. The young couple spent two years at Normanby, tine® years at Feilding, two years at 1 oxton, and five years at New Plymouth before settling at Wellington for over 16 years. Three years ago Mr. and Mr®. Whitehouse moved to Palmerston North. Mrs. Whitehouse had not enjoyed good health for some time, and for the past twelve months had been confined to her bed. She leaves a husband, two daughters and five sons..
