WARWICK STANTON’S BODY DISCOVERY NEAR THE MAKATOTE ■SURVEY DEPARTMENT PARTY, By Telegraph—Press Association. Taumarunui, Last Night. The body of Warwick Stanton, one of the students from Auckland who were lost in the blizzard on Mt. Ruapehu on September 5, was found this morning by a party of surveyors, comprising Messrs W. G. Nelson, F. H. Walters (chief surveyor), H. Davies (Lands and Survey Department), F. L. Stewart (Lands and Survey Department) and D. Connell (bushman, Horopito). The body was found near the Makatote stream, near where Mr. Addis was found.- The position where the body was recovered is about six miles from Pokako. A party of unemployed in charge of Constable Bruce left this afternoon, and the body will be brought to Taumarunui, where the inquest will be held. t The leader of the search party, drawn from Lands and Survey Department staff members from Wellington, was Mr. Nelson, who originally surveyed ‘the area. He went to Auckland last week and interviewed Mr. Addis, who last saw Stanton. As the result of infer* mation given by Mr. Addis it is evident Mr. Nelson was able to find Stanton’s body with little difficulty.
