USE OF VALUELESS CHEQUES
SEAMAN SENTENCED TO GAOL. STOLE BENEFACTOR’S BOOK. By Telegraph—Press Association. Dunedin, Sept. 16. In the Magistrate’s Court, William Henry Grimsy, aged 47, seaman, waa charged with obtaining money by valueless cheques and was sentenced to six months’ gaol. It was stated that Grimsy.had been maintained by a man out of charity, and stole the latter’s cheque book, drawing 28 cheques in all for £72. The money was spent in drink.
