HAWERA PLAYERS DEFEATED.

ENJOYABLE- WAVERLEY. VISIT.

Hawera Golf Club members journeyed to Waverley during the week-end, when they were beaten by tire local players by six games to four in the return match. The visitors were most hospitably entertained and spent a very: enjoyable day. The following are the details, Hawera players being mentioned first:— Whitehead ■ and Pease beat Parsons and Bradmore.

Hay-Mackenzie and Harrison lost to W. Muir and S. Aiken.

Gibson and Jones , lost to D. Craig and F. Johnston. -Giblin and 1 G. Powdrell lost to E. Dallison and S. Snushall. Vinnicombe and MeAnerin halved with G. Spratt and J. Gray, Veale and Harrison lost to J. Pepper and R. Cathie. Young and Clarke lost to J. Johnston and J. H. Pepper.

Muir and Meyrick sen. halved with R. Palmer and E. Sampson. ; White and Walker beat ( Rogers and H. Cowdell.

Chisholm and Ablett lost to R. Blaekeston and W. Heginbotham. Buckeridge and Williams' beat Graves and Aiken. •L. Walker and Stratton beat N Spratt and Howie.

The postponed Hawera Golf Club’s four-ball bogey competitions for seniors and juniors will be played this week, and the following is the draw for to-morrow: —■
