In the first round of the 36 holes stroke handicap Frank Eyre, the present open champion, broke the course record of 70 with a 69, and W. Corry shared the honour with a similar round.
Keane and Hattersley with a fine round of 73 secured the 1 id in the first round in the amateur foursome championship of Australia. Sloan Morpeth and Ryan are well up with 76. .
